Panthalassa
A wave-powered ocean data center Thiel just backed. The platform may be worth building; the cargo it carries is racing to zero.
Investment thesis
Photonic Interconnect
Light as the structural successor to copper in AI scale-up.

Dolphin Network
They built the customer before they built the network. The token buys itself with 100% of network revenue. The API has not opened yet.

Hard Limits on Sparse Bioelectric Control
Bioelectric repair is a dimensionality problem, not a dose problem. Below a critical number of intervention sites, no amount of stimulation works.

Stranded or Fungible?
Testing whether Extropic’s thermodynamic-computing moat survives scale. On what I could measure, the moat looks more like a head start.
Investment memo
Venice AI
A dual-token AI protocol — VVV for ownership, DIEM for compute — built for autonomous agents, not humans.

Culture Without Function
Emergent coordination in artificial systems, through costly signals.
02 / A LITTLE CONTEXT
Endlessly curious.
Strong opinions, loosely held.
I’m Chris Cable, an independent investor based in Sydney. I look for technological shifts before they become obvious. My interests are broad, but I tend to be drawn to products, platforms and ideas at the intersection of AI, crypto and frontier science.
I began in equity research and later led insights and analytics at Diageo in New York. Since first investing in Bitcoin in 2013, I’ve backed specialist managers, digital assets and early-stage companies.
My process is simple: follow the interesting question, develop a view, make a specific bet and keep looking for evidence that I’m wrong.
I work selectively with investors and founders navigating unfamiliar markets. If that sounds relevant, I’d enjoy comparing notes.
